Loneliness, Isolation, and Aging

Isolation and loneliness can become increasingly acute late in life—and too often the isolation of the elderly is unseen, even unremembered by much of society. This session will feature three physicians specializing in geriatric medicine, each of whom served on the National Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine Committee that produced the 2020 report, Social Isolation and Loneliness in Older Adults: Opportunities for the Health Care System.
